Splatter Pink   (jazzcore - Bologne)   Bandcamp

Splatter Pink are one of the most original and radical bands to emerge from thevibrant Bologna music scene of the 1990s. Founded in 1990 by bassist and vocalist Diego D'Agata, they are consideredpioneers of Italian jazzcore and math rock. Their music is an explosive blend of hardcore punk, avant-garde jazz, noise, and funk, characterized by odd timesignatures, technical virtuosity, and surreal or cynical lyrics.

It is a project founded by guitarist Manlio Maresca in 2021. It generally features a small ensemble of musicians, with different instruments and performers constantly rotating. This time, joined by Giuseppe Salime on drums, they present an elusive form of music that sublimates into noise, revealing all the uncertainties that define our times. Manlio Maresca (born in 1977) is an Italian guitarist, composer, and experimental musician, known in the undergroundmusic scene as “the wildest guitar player in East Rome”. His distinctive style blends avant-garde jazz with noiseaesthetics, electronic music, and a highly personal “poetics of error.”
