Soft As a Snow

is the Berlin-based, Norwegian duo of Oda Starheim and Øystein Monsen. With rough sampling, slippery rhythms and noisy textures, their raw electronic productions are accompanied by Oda’s shapeshifting voice creating a warped-yet-warm physicality. The duo’s latest album was released on genre-agnostic Portland label Beacon Sound and features CURL co-founder Brother May. Their catalogue further includes full-length releases on notable labels such as fabric’s imprint Houndstooth and Infinite Machine, as well as a series of noise-driven impro based work on progressive tape labels.
