Deradoorian is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, weirdo, who makes whatever kind of music they feel. These releases explore the world of ambient, experimental, drone, and just straight up pop-structured songs. Deradoorian feels there are many ways to approach creating sound. The continued practice of openness. Having put her collaboration with Kate NV, Decisive Pink, on hold, the former Dirty Projectors member returns to her solo career with an adventurous and fully realized album. On Ready For Heaven (Fire Records), Deradoorian draws on years of experience, moving beyond the tentative yet intriguing blend of avant-pop, krautrock, and Beatlesque echoes that characterized Expanding Flower Planet. In their place comes a more assured and less theatrical instrumental approach, through which she develops a post-punk language that feels emotionally cool, distant, and detached.
