The band was born in L’Aquila in 2008. Their music is influenced by heavy-psych stoner and instrumental post-rock. Their first EP, THE WHIRLINGS, sold several copies all over the world. Songs like Calcutta's Sewersor Worries on a Shelf were broadcast by American, South American and European radio channels. In June of 2013, the band launches new single Bhairab Pond taken from their first LP Beyond the Eyelids published in October 2013. Beyond the Eyelids was defined by some influential blogs (Perkele.it, Stonerobixxx, etc.) one of the best albums of 2013. The concerts of the band, as the light shows of the 60's, are full of lysergic and original video projections. The Whirlings in a few years performed on stage alongside world renowned groups such as Karma to Burn, Samsara Blues Experiment, Grand Astoria, This Will Destroy You, Godspeed You!Black Emperor etc.). Their new album Earthshine is released by Subsound Records. The Whirlings are Andrea Lolli (guitar), Mattia Lolli (guitar), Diego La Chioma (Bass guitar) and Giulio Corona (drums).
