Sequences #2: VUDUVOX + LAST MOVEMENT

20 May 2017

White noise, black light, cyber-larsen: VUDUVOX are a tense two-piece, forging radical electro groove with an attitude and politically un-correct lyrics whose motto could best be summed up as “no compromise, no surrender !”
Originating from rainy post-industrial Flanders, their pulsing bass sequences and minimal drum lines compete with electro-perx, android guitar riffs and angst-ridden vocals. But VUDUVOX are no clones and simply offer the sound of things to come. Needless to say, these two arrogant bastards are rather too cold, raw and uncompromising for the mellow French scene and play abroad as often as they can! Their first album “Vaudou électrique”, released on EKP on Nov. 21st 2014, was pre-mixed by Dirk Da Davo of The Neon Judgement and mastered by Len Lemeire of Implant/32Crash and Maurizio Fasolo of Pankow. It is distributed worldwide by Audioglobe, Out of Line, POPoNAUT, Rara Avis, Broken Silence etc. and has been enthusiastically reviewed from Bielarus to Brazil…
On the sly, J-C -vox and machines- is also the frontman of French minimal electro act BUZZ, who since 2006 have self-released five albums mastered by Len Lemeire (Implant) and gigged from Lisbon to Stockholm, sharing the stage with The Cassandra Complex, Implant, Parade Ground, 32Crash, Spectra Paris, Trisomie 21, Neon Electronics, Luc Van Acker and the likes.
When he was finally joined by Olivier T. -who also plays live electro-perx for GrandChaos and SA42- they decided it was time for a few musical readjustments and a name change. And VUDUVOX was born.
As for name-dropping, while BUZZ’s albums featured remixes by Dirk da Davo, Implant, David Carretta, Millimetric, People Theatre, HIV+, Bertrand Siffert (viz. The Young Gods), SA42, Void Kampf and Darkmen -to name but a few-, others by Pankow, Dolls of Pain, Danny Briottet (viz. Renegade Soundwave, Depeche Mode), David Harrow, NTRSN, Combat Voice and Bak XIII have been pouring in for VUDUVOX.

open act by Last Movement [space / noise / wave]
Saturday 20th May the band will be on live from 10pm in Rome at 30 Formiche live club, the band will play "bloove", new album (cd/vinyl/digital) out for BloodRock Records/Goodfellas/Clear Spot/Believe Digital and talk about the release, misc and many more stuff.
Last Movement is a four pieces band based in Rome, Italy, formed in 2011 basing on an idea of singer and guitar player Antonio Mauro. In order to shape the project, he started to write the very first songs and, after he met the drummer Andrea Adesso, they started to rehearse searching for other members to complete the line up. After many tests and musicians turn overs, in 2012 Luca Capone is the official bass player. In 2013 the band records the first single, "New Love/Feels like you", a self produced 7’’, followed by another single, "Your Icon", plus some remixes. Andrea leaves the band in mid 2013 for other music projects, and from then, it would have passed not so long for Misa Asci to take his place as drummer. While the band live activity is growing, the band make it to open for shows like Loop, The Soft Moon, Nothing, Toy, A Place to Bury Strangers, Disappears, Farflug, Giobia, O Children, The Chameleons, Sad Lovers & Giants, Pink Turns Blue and many more. In 2014 they record their first studio album and 2015 is the year of change; the band gets Nuri Lupi as singer. Recordings are over, so the mixing process starts. Luca leaves the band for personal matters, but the band keeps on working to build relations with some labels showing interest for the album. Carlo Venezia is the new bass player in September 2016, and in November 2016 the new album is released on cd, vinyl and digital by BloodRock Records, Godfellas distribution. Right now, the band is promoting the album and scheduling a tour.
